For a panoramic view of Taipei through a glass wall, head to the indoor observatory on the 89th floor. If you prefer an unobstructed view, visit the outdoor observatory on the 91st floor. Let's show you how to get there!
To get to the Taipei 101 Building, you can take Taiwan's MRT subway. Once you arrive at Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station, head to Exit 4, which will lead you to the underground restaurant area of the building. If you take the stairs or escalator from exit 4, you will find yourself near the entrance to the Taipei 101 building, close to the LOVE sculpture.
Check out the elevator listed in the
Guinness Book of World Records
Did you know that Taipei 101 Tower's elevator holds the world record for being the fastest elevator? It can take you from the 5th floor-to the 89th-floor observation deck in just 37 seconds! That's why it's listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. It's quite an experience to ride in this elevator and feel the vibe of the high speed!
Curious about Taipei 101 Observatory's secret?
It's the damper!
If you visit the Taipei 101 building, you'll have the opportunity to see the golden damper between the 88th and 92nd floors. This damper weighs 600 tons with a diameter of 6m and keeps the Taipei 101 Observatory centered, preventing it from collapsing. It also helps to hold tight during earthquakes or typhoons. It's an important safety feature of the building.
Get excited to see it in person; it's a recommendation must-see!
Get excited for the best photo spot!
The four corners of the Taipei 101 Observatory are the most picturesque spots to take photos. These areas offer the best photo opportunities. Even if there are no designated photo zones, the corners always remain popular spots for taking pictures, like the one shown above.
Meet fascinating night view
According to WAUG's data, the best time to visit the Taipei 101 Observatory is 6 PM. Most people prefer to visit to witness the sunset and the night view at 6 PM. The panoramic view of downtown Taipei from here is truly mesmerizing. We recommend that you don't miss the chance to enjoy both the sunset and the night view at once.
Where are nearby trendy restaurants?
The Taipei 101 Tower's basement level, up to the 5th floor above ground, is composed of various restaurants and shopping malls. We suggest having a meal before heading to the 5th floor, which serves as the entrance to the observatory. The most popular restaurant is Din Tai Fung, situated on the first basement level. They serve a range of dishes, including dim sum, beef noodles, and fried rice, making them an excellent option for lunch or dinner before visiting the observatory.
